Reishi Mushrooms
(Lingzhi mushroom)
a.k.a “mushroom of immortality”
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a woody, bitter medicinal mushroom used in East Asian medicine for more than 2,000 years and classified as an adaptogen, a substance thought to help the body resist physical and mental stress. Its active compounds, chiefly beta-glucan polysaccharides and triterpenes, have been studied for supporting immune function, easing fatigue, and promoting general wellbeing. Small clinical studies in cancer patients have shown reishi can raise natural killer cell activity, though it is used as a complement to medical treatment rather than a replacement for it.
